In a recorded address, the current Hezbollah Secretary General Naim Qassem accused Israel, along with the United States, of being behind the Syrian rebels currently capturing territory held by the Assad regime.
“Israel and the US are behind the belligerent organizations in Syria,” Qassem said. “They have been doing this since 2011 to sow chaos across Syria so the country leaves the Axis of Resistance. Hezbollah will stand with the Syrian government as much as it can to eliminate this attack.”
In his recored address, Qassem also mentioned the ceasefire in Lebanon, saying “This is not a new agreement, but rather a system that is meant to implement UN Security Council Resolution 1701.” UN resolution 1701 says Hezbollah must disarm, something which the terror organization has refused to do.
The Hezbollah terror leader also accused Israel of violating the ceasefire, saying “there are over 60 Israeli violations of the agreement.”
Qassem also announced Hezbollah’s intention to fund reconstruction efforts, saying: “We will pay $14 thousand to each owner of a house that was destroyed in Beirut and the Dahieh, and $12 thousand to those whose houses were destroyed outside of Beirut. Those sums were supplied by Iran.” Iran reportedly transferred $1 billion to Hezbollah through an intermediary in recent days.
