A large blaze tore through the Picnic supermarket on Squankum Road in Lakewood, NJ thoroughly destroying the entire structure.
The fire began at about 4:15 a.m. Firefighters arrived as surrounding houses were evacuated due to the spreading fire, which continued to burn for two hours. About 250 people were displaced as a result.
No injuries were reported, boruch Hashem.
The supermarket is located right down the block from the popular Kol Shimshon shul.
The cause of the fire remains undetermined.
Lakewood and Ocean County Fire Marshals were at the scene this morning, conducting an investigation.
