Ramat Gan’s newly elected mayor said he decided to charge parking fees for out-of-towners visiting the city’s central park.
Although Mayor Carmel Shama Hakohen said this is to increase city revenues, the neighboring residents of Bnei Brak suspect it’s a measure to stop chareidim from visiting the popular destination.
Hakohen also said he wanted to deal with the noise of Shabbos sirens which disturb secular people living near the border between the two towns.
