bloombergNYC Mayor Michael Bloomberg says there is “no way, no how” that he will run for president of the United States in 2012. Speaking on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Bloomberg said in an interview broadcast today that his advisers should “cease-and-desist” with their suggestions that he run.

“The bottom line is I have a great job. I want to go out having a reputation as a very good, maybe the greatest mayor ever,” Bloomberg said.

The Democrat-turned-Republican-turned-independent said he is focused on his job as mayor. He has occasionally been mentioned as a long-shot presidential candidate.

He was elected for a third term in 2009.

During the interview with host David Gregory, Bloomberg answered questions on tax cuts, the economy, immigration and party politics.

On immigration, Bloomberg said if America wants to move forward, then it needs to attract the best people from around the world.

“Anybody that gets a graduate degree in America from overseas gets a green card attached to their diploma. That’s the way we’re going to keep going,” he said.
