Every year, prior to the Yom Tov of Sukkos, Bais Medrash Govoah hosts a dalet minim shuk on its campus in the heart of Lakewood, NJ. Each year, before Sukkos, from early in the morning until late at night, vendors sell dalet minimsukkah decorations, and other items at the shuk.

That won’t happen this year, as organizers have called off the shuk due to Covid-19 concerns.

Just a week ago, organizers had announced that this year the shuk would be located in a tent on the yeshiva’s new parking lot, located next to the Klein Dormitory building. Organizers said that social distancing would be enforced, masks would be required, and temperatures would be checked.

But now those plans have been scrapped altogether out of caution.

At the same time, Matzav.com has spoken to several activists who say that they are working on alternative locations in or near Lakewood to hold a dalet minim shuk for those needing to buy dalet minim.
