Bratton: Another NYC Terror Attack is Inevitable

NYPD Commissioner Bill Bratton says another terror attack against the city is inevitable.

Bratton said the NYPD has studied terror attacks and mass shootings around the world and has developed new units that can respond quickly and with the right equipment, including long guns, to save the lives that he said are usually lost in the first 5 to 7 minutes, Tina Moore reports for the NEW YORK POST.

“The concern is that they’re occurring much more frequently and are becoming much more deadly because of the type weapons being used,” Bratton said, calling assault rifles “weapons of war.”

He pointed out that the city has added two units to handle potential attacks – the Critical Response Command and Strategic Response Group – and that many of the city’s new 1,300 cops were being assigned to the units. “We cannot let fear dominate our lives,” he said. “We can’t let fear start dictating loss of freedom that we enjoy.” Read more at the NEW YORK POST.
