An incident with a Sefer Torah falling at the Ponovezh Yeshiva in Bnei Brak caused a great shock across the Torah world and led the roshei yeshiva to issue a detailed letter to the talmidim.
Beforehand, the rosh yeshiva, Rav Gershon Edelstein, had sent the nosi of the yeshiva, Rav Leizer Kahaneman, to Rav Moshe Shaul Klein, who was asked about the opinion of Rav Shmuel Wosner.
The letter published by the yeshiva was signed by the roshei yeshiva, Rav Gershon Edelstein and Rav Berel Povarsky alongside Rav Kahaneman.
In the letter, the roshei yeshiva wrote that the talmidim should not fast, because this will cause bitul Torah. Rather, the roshei yeshiva set this Thursday, the 12th of Teves, as a day of teshuvah and hisroerus. “On this day, all members of the yeshiva will say after Mincha the 19th chapter of Tehillim, and all those who were in the bais midrash when the Sefer Torah fell will eat only bread and water on this day without putting anything on the bread and no other foods. This will be until tzeis hakochavim…”
Also, the bochurim will take it upon themselves to strengthen their respect for the bais medrash and for seforim, and each talmid will take it upon himself to return seforim to their places together with two other seforim he did not study from and return them to the seforim shranks.

Correction: if you read the letter, you’ll see that the Rosh Yeshiva gave instructions to see Perek 119 in Tehillim – ק”יט.
*to say* Tehillim Perel 119.
They are climbing up the wrong tree.
A outside suggestion is to be mekabel to respect all talmiday Chachamim and their talmidim.
This is just a little forewarning.
