A group of at least 20 Breslover Chassidim crossed into Lebanon overnight, entering the country during a fragile ceasefire and were stopped and sent back to Israel. The group made their way to the kever of Rav Ashi on Mount Shanan, located in Lebanese territory near the Israeli border, a location they have accessed unlawfully before. So far, eight of the individuals have been taken into custody for questioning.
Military sources report that the men had gathered near the border, with most being removed by IDF forces. The group attempted to cross into Lebanon multiple times throughout the night.
According to police, “during the night, the Israel Police received a complaint from IDF officials regarding a group of 20 Israeli citizens who entered the territory of the State of Lebanon after crossing the border in the northern region. Northern District police arrived at the scene and, after teaming up with army officials, detained some of the suspects near the border and transferred them for questioning at the police station in Kiryat Shmona.”
“The Israel Police reminds the public that reaching the areas adjacent to the border fence is prohibited and dangerous, especially crossing the border into Lebanon, which is prohibited by law; the penalty for violating the law is imprisonment of up to four years.”
Earlier in December, the police questioned five residents of Arad who had illegally entered Lebanese territory. They were caught by IDF forces across the border and returned to Israeli soil, where they were handed over to the Northern District police at the Kiryat Shmona station.

This is what Chazal refer to as “חסיד שוטה”
Lock’em up and throw away the keys. Or maybe they should all be sent to a mental asylum and be kept indefinitely…
WTH is wrong with you? Do you even think before you write such terrible things? They wanted to pray by a holy site. They should be simply educated not to do so in a dangerous border area.
That’s a bit Harsh. Not a fan of Breslov ( in fact the Tzim Tzim ban applies to SOME in that group, but not all). STILL we should be educating, and whipping where need be. Locking people up is so Roman…
How many Jews have they killed to be locked up and keys thrown away or your other suggestions? Is this what you should get when you make a mistake?
