Jeremy Corbyn has repeatedly praised a convicted Palestinian terrorist as an “ambassador for peace” and called for his release from Israeli jail, an i24NEWS investigation reveals.
The British Labour leader hailed Marwan Barghouti, a leader of designated terrorist organisation the Al Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigade, in a series of Early Day Motions demanding his release. EDMs are effectively joint statements signed by any number of British MPs.
Marwan Barghouti was sentenced by an Israeli court in 2004 to five consecutive life sentences in connection with three attacks during the wave of Palestinian terror attacks known as the Second Intifada. He was convicted for complicity in the murders of four Israelis and a Greek monk, as well as attempted murder, and membership of a terrorist organisation.
