NetSource of Beit Shemesh, a service provider of software development, has informed hundreds of chareidi female employees in its call center department, which serviced Israeli communication companies, that the company was closing down the division and that their work would terminate in thirty-two days.

The company tried to shut down the department three months ago after the workers unionized, but was prevented from doing so by Israel’s largest trade union, the Histadrut, which sued the firm for an unprecedented sum of 103 million shekels. A compromise was reached and the closedown was delayed for three months.

NetSource was valued as a company that employed hundreds of chareidim, almost all living in Beit Shemesh, and gave them an on-site kosher kitchen, flexible work hours, and suitable projects.

  1. As someone who has been through multiple company closings and layoffs I know how devastating this can be for these women and their families.
May HKB”H help them with their parnassah.

  2. So why did they unionize. They seem to have had pretty good conditions & now for the want of a few more bucks they have no job at all
