CAN’T MAKE IT UP: Kamala Harris Announces ‘National Strategy To Combat Islamophobia’ In The Wake of Anti-Semitic Threats

Vice President Kamala Harris made a public announcement on Wednesday regarding the Biden administration’s latest initiative: the National Strategy to Counter Islamophobia.

You read that right.

This comes in the midst of an alarming surge in anti-Semitic threats and attacks, both in the United States and globally.

“Taking a stand against hatred is a top national priority. Today, @POTUS and I are unveiling the nation’s first National Strategy to Counter Islamophobia. This move represents our ongoing commitment to combating the rising tide of hate in America,” Harris conveyed through a post on X, along with a concise video.

In the video, Harris highlighted that President Joe Biden and his administration had previously introduced a National Strategy to Counter Anti-Semitism earlier this year. However, she did not elaborate on its implementation, especially in the face of a significant increase in anti-Semitic incidents, particularly following the tragic Hamas attack that claimed the lives of over 1,400 Israelis, including many civilians.

Harris chose to emphasize the apparent menace of Islamophobia: “For years, Muslim individuals in America and those who are perceived to be Muslim have endured a disproportionate number of hate-driven attacks. In the aftermath of the Hamas terrorist attack in Israel and the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, we have witnessed a surge in anti-Palestinian, anti-Arab, anti-Semitic, and Islamophobic incidents across America. This includes the brutal assault on a Palestinian-American woman, who is of the Muslim faith, and the tragic killing of her 6-year-old son.”

Critics have raised questions about the tone-deaf timing of this announcement, especially as anti-Semitic incidents on college campuses have reached a critical point. Jewish students at Cornell University received death threats, and some had to seek refuge in a locked library at New York City’s Cooper Union.
