The Israeli Defense Forces released a statement Monday evening confirming the death of Captain (Res.) Tal Movshovitz, 28, a resident of Reut and Deputy Company Commander in the 7086th Combat Engineering Battalion of the Golani Brigade. He was killed while engaged in battle in the southern region of the Gaza Strip.
Captain Movshovitz lost his life after an explosive device was set off in the Khan Yunis area.
According to preliminary findings, the incident occurred when a terrorist cell staged an ambush. After an improvised explosive device struck the Hummer vehicle carrying Movshovitz and other troops, the attackers began firing on the soldiers.
