carson[Video below.] Ben Carson seemed to suggest on Fox & Friends Tuesday that victims of the Oregon shooting last week didn’t do enough to protect themselves.

“I would not just stand there and let him shoot me,” Carson said. “I would say, ‘Hey guys, everybody attack him. He may shoot me, but he can’t get us all.'”

He also took issue with President Obama’s politicizing of the shooting saying “When do we get to the point where we have people who actually want to solve our problems rather than just politicize everything? I think that’s what the American people are so sick and tired of.” Read more at The Huffington Post.

  1. Wait, you mean people can act to defend their life and property without waiting for the all powerful guberment to benevolently save them? What a radical idea! Instead dial 911 and wait mere minutes – when seconds count.

  2. What can one do, besides hoping for a miss and/or jammed magazine, when an armed person attacks us and we’re far beyond a couple of meters? Even having another weapon will not necessarily help, given the surprise factor. This by the way was a college class and carrying weapons was not allowed. Scream “everybody attack him”?! Why doesn’t Carson take a stopwatch and figure out how many seconds it takes to say. I suppose he believes firearms work more or less like the deathray in comic books featuring Superman and whatnot. The only hope under such circumstances, R”L may they never occur to us and our loved ones, is talking to the sicko and getting him confused enough he will hesitate, possibly missing the shoot or being disarmed by someone he did not notice. But the tragedy could have been averted: no one should have been able to enter class with a firearm.

  3. At an earlier article here on this tragic Oregon story at, I pointed out the phenomenon that one of the areas of serious side effects of psychotropic medications is that they can actually cause the patient to become severely violent, Rachmana Litzlan. I thus remarked that there needs to be investigation into whether this was a factor in this case. So examine the news story at, which confirms that the Oregon shooter was not only on psychotropic medication, he was actually using FIVE different mind-emotional treatment drugs when he committed the massacre!
