Not all the A-listers who stumped for Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders will be hiding under their 3,000-thread-count sheets this week. On Thursday, the day before President-elect Donald Trump is sworn into office on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, a group of celebrities and Mayor Bill de Blasio will gather in New York to protest the future commander-in-chief on his home turf.

Rev. Al Sharpton, documentary maker Michael Moore and others will stand with de Blasio outside the Trump International Hotel in Manhattan, about half a mile from the president-elect’s $100 million home at Trump Tower.

“We are sending a message to Washington that we will fight, at every step, discrimination and harmful policies, today, tomorrow, and every day,” Ruffalo said in a statement, according to the Associated Press, adding that protesters plan to “to protect the values we hold dear.”

Ruffalo, who backed Sanders and later promised to appear completely naked in his next movie if anyone other than Trump was elected president, tweeted that the New York protest is “a rally of peaceful resistance.” Organizers, including MoveOn.org and Greenpeace, are expecting thousands of attendees to arrive at the Trump Hotel near Columbus Circle on Thursday.

  1. Celebrities and the New York mayor. That says it all. Publicly seekers, who act out their entire lives, without a clue about real one, and a public official, who doesn’t know a thing about running a hotdog stand, let alone a giant city, and whose mouth spews forth such pathetic nonsense, that even a clown would be embarrassed. Does DeBlasio even know whom and why he is about to protest against?
Added to this pile of whatever is Al Sharpton – neither a celebrity, nor an elected anything. A reverend without a steeple, the man is nothing but a rabble rouser and a hate monger.
    What a lovely crowd.

  2. He ought be impeached for this. John Lewis too! Because when our leaders buck the systen they are thus leading by example to be disloyal citizens and they thus teach the hooligans and low-lives how to be disorderly and to disobey the law! Even Hillary took the high road when she conceded defeat – albeit it tongue in cheek – and said that the constitution is the law of the land bla, bla, bla. He is a mayor and must be held to a higher standard.

  3. Two thoughts occur.
    1) It’s still called “Columbus Circle”, not “Trump Circle”?
    2) Since esrogim are not in season, can lemons fulfill their objective (sha’as had’khak)?

  4. What is deblooze trying to achieve?? For Goodness sake… he is mayor!! He should teach us to abide to the rules no matter who is leader. Such a morally corrupt mayor. Uneducated!
    He MUST step down.
