Two years ago, Israeli authorities demolished a yeshiva built illegally at the kever of Don Ben Yaakov at the Shimshon Junction near Beit Shemesh. The authorities now want to cement the entrance to the small, old building and prevent worshippers from accessing the site.
The Land Authority said in response to complaints: “If anyone wants to renovate the kever compound, they can arrange this by allocating the building for religious purposes via an application from the Religious Affairs Ministry.”
Tradition holds three possible locations of Don’s kever: one near Beit Shemesh, one at Har Tavor in the Galilee and a third at Banias in the Golan.
