In an attempt to sow confusion, signs and proclamations from a number of supposed “new” Hatzolah groups in Central New Jersey have made the rounds in recent days and weeks.

Matzav.com has confirmed that these declarations are false, propagated by individuals seeking to confuse an innocent public.

The proclamations claim that new branches of Hatzolah have been formed in Toms River and in Lakewood neighborhoods such as West Gate, Raintree and Oak & Vine.

The signs bear no names or signatures, but rather bogus email addresses and websites.

Lakewood, Toms River, Jackson and surrounding area continue to be served by Hatzolah of Central Jersey, a widely-lauded Hatzolah operation staffed by some of the most competent and experienced paramedics and EMTs in the country.

  1. can we take a moment to appreciate the stupidity of the claims, that “many in our community have for too long felt the need for this special organization to function specifically in this area, to ensure a much faster response time and much greater service”?
So let’s say we would follow this fool’s suggestion and compartmentalize Hatzolah down neighborhood by neighborhood. Then when somebody in let’s say Raintree, needs EMS services during the day, and all of the Raintree volunteers are at their places of work/Kollel, but somebody from Oak/Vine Hatzolah works at an office building on County Line, Raintree Hatzolah would need to reach out to central dispatch to have them reach out to each individual dispatch to try to track down who is in the area. This would increase response times exponentially, potentially killing people.

And that is to say nothing for the senseless expense of needing to set up multiple separate dispatch centers, additional radio channels, and the over-layering in redundancies in the number of ambulances that would be needed (at $300,000+ each).
