Chacham Ovadiah Yosef has taken ill, and has asked his followers to daven for his health. In the past few weeks, Rav Yosef, who is 90 years old, has not been able to give his weekly shiur at his shul because of weakness and a cold.
Last Shabbos, Rav Yosef felt somewhat better and gave a shiur, though it was a relatively short one. At its conclusion he said: “I just want to ask the gathering – I do not feel so good. Daven for me that I will be healthy. That we will go back again to teaching, to giving merit to many, to studying Torah, to learn and teach, to obey and carry out.”
Today, Shas chairman and Interior Minister Eli Yishai went to the kever of Shimon HaTzaddik in Yerushalayim to daven for Chacham Ovadiah. He was accompanied by Yitzchak Idan, Mayor of Elad.
All are asked to daven for Rav Ovadiah ben Georgia.

Perhaps you could publish Horav Yosef’s name so I may include him in my tefilos.
Thank you
I know this may sound confusing, but the Rav’s full Hebrew GIVEN name is Ovadya Yosef ben Gorjia.
Yosef happens to be his family’s surname now, as well. At his bris, he was given 2 names: Ovadya (after Rav Abdallah Somech) and Yosef (after the Ben Ish Chai). His family surname at the time was Ovadya.
You can verify this in Mishpacha Magazine’s interview with the Rav’s son here: http://www.mishpacha.com/Browse/Article/615/A-Crown-Restored
To RSG
If you read till the end you would have found Chacham Yosef’s name also. (Ovadiah ben Georgia)
Refuah Shelemah!
