
The majority of the Israeli public is against the deal currently being negotiated with Hamas for the release of hostages, according to a poll released on Channel 14 on Monday evening.
The poll detailed the proposed agreement: Israel would retreat from the Philadelphi corridor and the Netzarim corridor, allowing Hamas operatives to reclaim and reestablish terrorist infrastructures that have not been destroyed. In exchange, Israel would receive 18 living hostages and around 15 bodies.
The findings reveal that 53% of respondents oppose the deal, 36% are in favor, and 11% are undecided. This poll was conducted by the Direct Polls institute across various sectors of Israeli society.
Additionally, the poll indicates that a significant 76% of the public do not trust Egypt to prevent smuggling in the Philadelphi corridor, while 17% do trust Egypt, and 7% have no opinion on the matter.
