[Live webcast below.] The Chicago Jewish Community will stand in support of those affected by Hurricane Sandy today, Sunday, November 18. Harav Gedalia Dov Schwartz and Harav Avrohom Chaim Levin have headed the effort to present an event this Sunday evening to bring our community together to better understand the situation in the New York area.
Presentations will be made by Rabbi Hershel Billet of Young Israel Woodmere & Rabbi Yehiel Kalish, a Trustee of Achiezer, and the National Director of Governmental Affairs for Agudath Israel.
Wide support and large attendance is anticipated, which will send a strong message of chizuk to those in desperate need in New York.
It will be an opportunity to raise funds for those who haven’t yet contributed, and for those who have, it will be deepen their attachment and their appreciation for the situation.
Financial support will be directed to Achiezer, the leading organization on the ground in the Five Towns that is actively supporting the families in most desperate and immediate need.
