[COMMUNICATED]

Those who have lived in Israel for more than a few years are almost used to it: the grisly headlines announcing victims when there is a wave of terror attacks. Some victims of stabbings, rammings, and suicide bombs live to tell the tale, and even become a symbol of the Jewish People’s bravery and resilience. Tragically, however, as their stories fade into history, many victims of terror are still struggling with complications from their wounds years – and even decades – later.

One such victim is Aliza Levi, a mother of 10 who was wounded in an attack, and has never been the same. Due to severe pain suffered since her injury, she has had a difficult time keeping up the stamina needed to support her large family. Though the trauma is in the past, it still lives with her today. And it came rushing back more than ever last month as sirens came racing into the Levis’ neighborhood park on a shabbos afternoon.

The Levis’ 11-year-old son Nachi fell from a park structure that was reportedly 4-stories high. The fall was directly onto his abdomen, and the little boy’s organs were “severely damaged.” Nachi’s story turned an optimistic corner a few weeks ago when he woke up from his medically induced coma. Unfortunately, however, the journey is far from over: He needs several expensive treatments to save his organs and his life.

Right now, the Levi family is too poor to save their 11-year-old’s life.

Donations are being collected to save Nachi, and help his family pay for his medical bills. Their fund page has a letter from Rav Naftali Nussbaum, Rav Chaim Kanievsky, and Rav Dovid Twersky, beseeching the public to give what they can.

No one sees tragedy coming. One can only hope that if the time does come for them to experience such suffering, their community will reach out with a helping hand.

  1. Why isn’t the Israeli OSHA more vigilant and make sure that such mishaps don’t occur? These people, and the Government, have a KING SIZE lawsuit against the play ground owners and the playground equipment manu-
facturer. Those lazy good-for-nothing Israelis should take care of their own #$#%^&& problems!
