China Intercepts U.S. Spy Plane Over South China Sea

Chinese military aircraft intercepted a U.S. military spy plane over the South China Sea on Tuesday, the Pentagon announced Wednesday.

According to Defense Department spokesperson Lt. Col. Michelle Baldanza, the plane was doing a “routine patrol” when “two [Chinese] tactical aircraft” intercepted it.

“Initial reports characterized the incident as unsafe,” Baldanza added. U.S. Pacific Command is investigating. Read more at NBC.

  1. This could lead to war. P Obama will view it as a miscommunication and blame israel for being too aggressive. Now israel has to decide who to choose. the good news is by 2018 it will forgeten.

  2. Wrong picture. You show a Global Hawk, which is unmanned and flies high. The Chinese J-11s intercepted an EC-3, which a low, slow manned aircraft.

    These kids better be careful, or someone’s liable to get hurt.
