China-Linked Hackers Target Moderna Coronavirus Vaccine

Hackers backed by Beijing sought to gain access to the internal systems of Moderna Inc., a US-based biotech company working on COVID-19 vaccine, Reuters reported Thursday.

The agency cited a US security official keeping taps on China’s offensive cyber-operations as saying that the hacking crew targeted the company’s data earlier in the year, without going into any more detail.

Last week, the US Justice Department revealed indictments against two Chinese nationals accused of spying on US-based entities.
