As Christie rejoiced in his feat and high-fived a fellow fan, the announcer remarked that it was “nice to see him get from the beach to the ballpark.” With his latest approval rating around 15 percent, Christie has faced sharp criticism in New Jersey after he was spotted relaxing on a beach closed to the public amid a government shutdown earlier this month.
