Due to the newest ruling of the District Court Judge today regarding religious restrictions in New York State, Yeshiva Derech Ayson of Far Rockaway will have no minyanim this Yom Tov.

The announcement was made by the rosh yeshiva, Rav Yechiel Yitzchok Perr.

As reported earlier by Matzav.com, another Five Towns-area yeshiva, Yeshiva Sh’or Yoshuv, in Lawrence, will likewise be closed.

Rav Perr, in making his announcement, remarked, “Those individuals whose shortsightedness brought us to this sad turn of events should understand that if they continue, they will cause the indefinite shutdown of the yeshivos in our community. This will be a tragedy far greater than the one we are experiencing now.”

The mitzvah of simchas Yom Tov, Rav Perr said, still applies, and everyone is “mechuyov to find ways of being joyful at this time.”

    • exactly! how can one mention not being able to daven in a shul. and then ignore the fact that jews can’t bring sacrifices that the shul is a substitute for.

  1. Blame the idiots who keep on taking the useless test. Since there are almost zero covid19 fatalities these days in NY/NJ area, therefore no stupid test = no corona.
