Condition of Rav Naftali Jaeger Improves

The condition of Rav Naftali Jaeger, venerable rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Sh’or Yoshuv, is improving and he will hopefully be discharged from the hospital on Monday.

With the Agudah injunction against Governor Cuomo’s orders being rejected, Sh’or Yoshuv, which is in the “red zone,” has no choice but to close for Yom Tov.

Rav Jaeger told his kehillah that he is terribly pained by the current state of events and shared a message: Firstly, he said that everyone should know that if one does not have a place to daven b’tzibur, one can and should daven B’yichidus, and to do this with great simcha. The Kabbalos HaTorah of Simchas Torah is for each individual and our personal chelek in Torah. That is the Ikar Simcha of Simchas HaTorah and that should come through in our Tefillos Hayom and learning the entire Yom Tov.
