The Ziegler School of Rabbinic Studies, one of the two Conservative rabbinical schools, is slashing annual tuition by nearly 80%, from $31,342 to $7,000, due to waning interest in the program, JTA reported.

Only four students enrolled this year, and only two rabbis were ordained in 2021.

This is not surprising. According to a 2020 Gallup poll, the proportion of Conservative Jews in the US slipped from 43% in 1990 to 17% in 2020. The percentage of 18- to 29-year-old people who consider themselves Conservative fell from 11% in 2013 to 8% by 2020.

  1. People with any brains aren’t interested in a knock off version of Judaism. They want the real thing, Torah Judaism.

  2. Even if they actually pay someone to attend, there is still no interest.
The Conservative “movement” is fully succeeding in self-eradication. Having taught its former adherents that Judaism must and is able to conform to the latest trends, including mixed marriages, female clergy, full acceptance of abominable lifestyle, and the rest of so-called progressive ideology, why wouldn’t the synagogue members save on their dues, remain at home, and decide which mitzva or tradition is due for abrogation, on their own?
Their schools are getting empty, their synagogues are closing, and soon enough they will fade away, like so many other historical debris.

    • As much as Conservative is bad, I think you are mixing them up with Reform which is much worse.
