  1. R”L. When will this all stop? Tragedies on yop of tragedies. We are doing something wrong.
Is it the talking by davening? Is it the use of cellphones in Shul? Both are unbelievable bizyonos for HKB”H. Or is it our lack of bein odom l’chaveiro?
    Maybe all of the above.
A ksiva v’chasima tova, and we should not hear such tragedies anymore, only simchos.

  2. BDE. There are no words! Rabbosai, we have to know that this tragedy was nigzar on Rosh Hashana last year. We have to take the upcoming Yom Tov very seriously. Everything that happens during the year, is nigzar on Rosh Hashana. May HKB”H help us all.

  4. I am not Jewish but I knew Morris for many years through his volunteer work with the New York City Police Dept. He is a good man who gave so much to the city of new york.

  6. I knew Beth since 1966 when we met at the Rambam Yeshiva in Brooklyn. We were both 5. She was one of the most spectacular people one can imagine. In all those years I never heard her speak ill of anyone. Thats 49 years. They were in the process of marrying their daughter. What a couple! What children! BDE!

  7. This is a HUGE tragedy.
HKB”H, take us out of this Galus that gets darker every day.
We have to believe that Moshiach is very close!

  8. Who can say why this tragedy occurred? Rachmana litzlan, parents lost to their children, a chosen torn from his kallah, yesomim from both parents at once. Tatte, it is time to say “Dai” to Your children’s tzaros. Brothers and sisters, Rosh Hashanah and the days of Din are almost here. Increase your ahavas yisroel, your shirts halashon, your shemiras shabbos, , your learning Hashem’s torah, your hakoras hatov to the Bored Olam, and b’eras Hashem, we will have a kesivah vachasimah Tovar with the geulah shleimah.

  9. bde…so sad
Morris was miraculously saved on 9/11 as he worked with hundreds of other Hatzolah members to save lives. Unfortunately, he was taken from this world of the same date that 9/11 happened – כג אלול.

  10. Morris was a true friend. As a Paramedic, he cared for others regardless of who they were. Morris was a dedicated member of the New York City Police Deoartment in addition to being an retired employee of the New York City Port Authority. A member of the NYPD Auxiliary Emergency Service unit later renamed APSU, he gave it everything he had to serve the citizens and visitors of New York City. He was not always appreciated as a volunteer as he always fought for what was right. In the end, he helped thousands of people often during their most difficult times. He also was a great teacher, father and husband. He did not have an easy path. He always tried to do the best for his family, friends and yes strangers. My contact with Beth was less frequent. I can say that she deeply loved her children, her husband Morris and caring for others working as a nurse. While it was struggle, this family worked to overcome whatever obstacles they encountered. I have never met a man more proud of his family. We will all miss Morris, Beth and future son-in-law Yehuda Bayme. This loss is unimaginable. Our prayers are with the family. There are no words. Let us all do what we can to help.

  11. We know Morris and Beth for many years from Camp Morasha. They were wonderful people who we will sorely miss. What a terrible tragedy.

    Yaakov Dov Ben Blima Chana
    Shoshana Chaya Bas Blima Chana
    Avrohom Yosef Ben Blima Chana

May the Tefilos of All of Am Yisroel come together and bring salvation to us all

  13. The following was extracted from the Soncino translation of Tractate Shabbath daf 139a

It was taught. R. Jose b. Elisha said: If you see a generation overwhelmed by many troubles, go forth and examine the judges of Israel, for all retribution that comes to the world comes only on account of the Judges of Israel, as it is said, Hear this, I pray you ye heads of the house of Jacob, and rulers of the house of Israel, that abhor judgment, and pervert all equity. They build up Zion with blood and Jerusalem with iniquity. The heads thereof judge for reward, and the priests thereof teach for hire, and the prophets thereof divine for money; yet will they lean upon the Lord, etc. They are wicked, but
they place their confidence in Him Who decreed, and the world came into existence. Therefore the Holy One, blessed be He, will bring three punishments upon them answering to the three sins which they cultivate, as it is said, Therefore shall Zion for your sake be plowed as a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest. And the Holy One, blessed be He, will not cause His Divine presence to rest upon Israel until the wicked judges and officers cease out of Israel, for it is said, And I will turn my hand upon thee, and thoroughly
purge away thy dross, and will take away all thy tin. And I will restore thy judges as at the
first, and thy counselors as at the beginning, etc.

  14. BDE WHAT A horrific tragedy. everyone is mourning this terrible tragedy & wondering why the tzaros is never stopping & only getting worse R”L. Have YOU started doing teshuva yet towards Mashiach? Hashem is not waiting for the yom kippur teshuva, that is each persons private teshuva with Hashem. What Hashem is waiting for is a public TESHUVA MOVEMENT of kala yisroel coming together as a nation-on all levels from frum to frei etc…-begging forgiveness & asking for mashiach to come already. when a nation/child gets a potch from their loving father & doesnt learn from it to fix the issue that caused him to get it then his father needs to hit him again (the child just wont do his home work or go to slep etc…) we call it a potch of LOVE & this is where klal yisroel is holding today when we are struck with endless tragedies R”L. IT REALLY PAINS ME TO SEE SUCH HORRIFIC TRAGEDIES HAPPENING R”L. may we all start doing teshuva ASAP & MAY all the neshamos have an aliya & may the sick children have a refuah shleima ASAP

  15. Rachmana litzlan, WHAT A horrific tragedy, SO SO SAD: It hurts ת נ צ ב ה May Hashem heal the wounds. Perhaps we can learn from this that Chosson and Kallah (in general not this case) should not be spending time together till they are married, maybe this is what Hashem is trying to convey to us. Where do we get the Hetter for them to spend so much time together before their Chupah? Lets be strong and listen to Hasems messages. It might already be time to leave Galus and live in Israel.

  16. The levaya for Yehuda Bayme will be held today, Tuesday, September 8th, at 1:00pm at Hebrew Institute of Riverdale – The Bayit, 3700 Henry Hudson Parkway, Bronx, NY 10463.

A speaker and seats will be set outside on the terrace from where Kohanim can see and hear the service.

Burial will follow at Cedar Park Beth El Cemetery, 735 Forest Avenue in Paramus, NJ 07652.

  17. Rachmana litzlan WHAT A horrific tragedy,SO SO SAD:It also hurts so much. May Hashem heal the wounds. Perhaps we can learn from this for us (not for them) that a Chosson and Kallah should not be spending time together till they are married, (anyway nothing positive comes out of spending so much time together) maybe this is what Hashem is trying to convey to us. From Where do we have a Hetter to spend time together before the Chuppah? Lets be strong and listen to Hashems messages. It might already be time to leave Galus and live in Israel.

When will the tragedies all stop? Tragedies on top of tragedies. We must be doing something wrong. Is it the talking by davening? Is it the use of cellphones in Shul? Both are unbelievable bizonyos for HKB”H. Or is it our lack of Bein Odom L’chaveiro? or do we have to improve our Tznius? Maybe all of the above.

A ksiva v’chasima tova, and we should not hear such tragedies anymore, only only simchas. May we all start doing teshuva ASAP & MAY all the neshamos have an aliya & may the sick children have a refuah shleima ASAP in the Zechus of us doing Teshuva. AMEN.

  18. Response to comment #25. Who are you to say why such a tragedy happen. Leave that up to G-D. We all know what we need to work on and at this time they need sympathy and not criticism.

  19. How can you say such a thing???? Are you their Rabbi? Their mentor? A Gadol Hador? Their Rosh Yeshiva? On the Moetzes?? If it’s not your minhag, hats off to you, but why would you want to denigrate the minhag of a huge portion of klal yisroel, with their Rabbinic backing, a few days before Rosh Hashana??

  20. All you insensitive pricks saying tznies and talking in shul. Why don’t you mend yourselves first before criticizing others public behavior. Are you saying these people died because somebody’s hem was to short? Or because of a phone in shul? Seriously? When was the last time you walked out of shul backwards showing respect? Nu? What about overcoming your own untznius thoughts?

  21. #25 – what a disgusting comment – to insinuate that HKB’H punished a Chosson and Kallah for spending Shabbos together in the mountains. Is that why the parents were killed too? How do you dare to suggest that this was the reason for this tragedy. YES – we all have to do Teshuva and each of us knows where we have to improve, but don’t EVER suggest that these Korbonos were “punished” for something they did.

  22. I am still speechless at this terrible loss! I knew Morris for over 20 years through the Auxiliary Police. He was a great mentor and friend and he will be deeply missed! My prayers go out to the family during this most difficult time. May Morris, Beth and Yehuda rest in eternal peace, and I hope the other injured family members recover. We are all here for you!
