In a courageous and bold move, Shaindy Braun has decided to shutter her SARY Wigs Instagram page, which has over 40,000 followers, as first reported on Matzav Status earlier today.
Mrs. Braun’s decision follows last night’s “Nekadesh” event at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ, where thousands of women gathered to learn about how to increase holiness in their lives in an age of technology and expanding social media.
“It is with tremendous pride and humility that I am posting this message,” Mrs. Braun, a resident of Lakewood, NJ, began. “After 9 years and close to 40,000 ‘followers,’ I have made the choice to close this Instagram page. SARY wigs will continue to thrive and grow – this time in the real world.”
The Monsey native added, “I am making this choice to close this page in order to make space for something higher. I want more emes and more kedusha in my life and by extension for all of you my dear followers.”
She concludes by stating, “I invite you all along for the beautiful and real ride called life.”

gIVE HER CREDIT
for what she’s done,
but why the holier than thou attitude?
Why the whole thing about bringing kedusha, as if others don’t have kedusha
why the condescneding tone toward those who still need this for their business
Amazing that this is what you took out of her message…..And yes, she is holier than us to disengage…..
Instagram = Tumah and Zinus!
Instagram = open internet unlike WhatsApp there is no way to filter Instagram!
It’s an embarrassment how many frum Haimish people have non business Instagram accounts. Even more embarrassing are the likes and comments between men and women on totally non business related posts. Just imagine what going on right now in the PM. If Instagram and social media would be used like Linkedin is suppose to be used there would be no need to make the Kinus.
you sound so liberal…. the minute someone touches a sore chord you take it personally you blame the person and their message; your guilt perhaps?
she says nothing about you. she is specifically stating how she wants to proceed with her life and her understanding of it.
you are a 100% right.. terrible terrible..
Why do you have to focus on that? Is everybody perfect? Just give her credit for such a sacrifice we can’t imagine how hard it was, and leave it at that.
We should stop all shaitels and go back to the good old days of cloth head coverings.
Thank you for stating the emes and what would really bring kedusha!

The truth is, she is holier than thou if she can give it all up in one moment. There are ways to make clean business without having to go through filth.
Why the snide remark? Wish you were there? YOU CAN IF YOU WANT TO.
Wow! What a kiddush Hashem!
Yes absolutely. This lady is the greatest thing since sliced bread. She is mamesh the Sarah Emainu of our generation. We should all line up outside her office seeking her brachos and guidance. New daas Torah.
When will Matzav close their web site?
Good question.
the first step to living a healthy and holy life is to be honest and understand the issue. Honesty is root. when someone equates matzav to instagram. When someone completely ignores the fact that filters have levels and instagram will never be approved and matzav will then they will be able to lead a holier and more ruchnius productive life. But when someone throws such an ober chacham comment here then he is oblivious and the reprecussions for him cus of the zilzul and dishonesty can be great and dangerous. be careful sir, your kids are watching.. They are waiting to hear the truth from you.
The Matzav editors and staff are obviously not women who went to the Asifa.
When we stop logging in
Emes and kedusha? How about stop selling these types of wigs?
One step at a time and this was a big step they took
Are you expecting her to pass every nisayon in one day? Give her credit for doing such an incredible sacrifice. Every thing counts in Yidishkeit, it’s not all or nothing.
Genius marketing.
Or maybe an act of real self improvement? Why be cynical of a good deed when we are not in her shoes?
Hopefully her courage will bring her good business.
Wow! Kol Hakovod! To the previous negative comments, you all really need to get rid of your cynicism and bleak outlook on life. Can’t you see the positive in anything???! I really feel bad for you- Nebach…
agreed… where there’s good, we need to celebrate that!
Ashrecha
Kol hakavod. Hopefully more companies/private individuals will follow suit
kudos to Tziporah Ehrman Wigs whom took this step over 2 years ago she spoke so well last night
She probably set the trend and thank you for mentioning her name. It is important to give credit for the Nachshonim for sure and then for anyone being inspired and following…. it’ll be a great zchus for them iyh!
Beautiful!
Wow! A tremendous move on her part! Hopefully she will inspire many more to follow suit.
WOW! Kol Hakavod!
We need more people like her!
ANyone else is teary eyed??
Mi kamchu yisroel!
Remain calm and no one gets hurt.
Beautiful and inspiring
One of the halochos pertaining to loshon hora is not to praise someone before their enemy because that person will likely respond by denigrating the one who was praised.
It’s terribly unfortunate that some commenters here are doing just that.
May Hashem bentsch those who strive to improve themselves, even when it’s not the easiest or most expedient choice to make.
To all of you negative commentors y are simply just jealous. And dont say she should give up selling sheitels unless your willing to give up that your own wife doesnt wear one either.
Kol hakovod,
Kol hakovod,
You should be blessed
Would be interested in hearing back from sari wigs in 3 month from now if the company earned less since they closed Instagram. If not it would be a strong message to everyone who has Instagram for business “Litzorech Parnasa”
I am not interested if she’s earning less I am interested if she still has a parnassah, and if the answer is yes- even if it’s less it’s a strong message to those that have smartphones “litzorech parnassah.
let’s stop fooling ourselves. I sell on Amazon and I have no smartphone
Yeh, you don’t need a smartphone but you definitely have an unfiltered computer. You must have one if you want to be a successful Amazon dealer. So cut out the fake sanctimonious drasha.
Kol HAchovod! Proud to own a Sary!
