On Monday, the Yerushalayim District Court dismissed a request filed on behalf of Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu, seeking to block the public screening of the documentary “The Bibi Files.” This film reveals previously unreleased documents from corruption investigations involving Netanyahu. The documentary is scheduled to debut at the Toronto Film Festival later today.

Netanyahu had called for an “urgent discussion” concerning the film’s release. His petition highlighted the involvement of journalist Raviv Drucker, known for his opposition to the government, as one of the film’s producers. Netanyahu argued that the documentary, which includes police records related to investigations involving him and his family, contains material protected by a gag order and should not be shown. Under Israeli law, releasing such investigative documents is prohibited, as it could lead to a “show trial” and jeopardize Netanyahu’s right to a fair legal proceeding.

The promotional material for the film indicated that the documents to be presented cover the years 2016 to 2018. The film is expected to feature Netanyahu, his wife Sarah, his son Yair, close friends, advisors, and staff at the Prime Minister’s Residence in Yerushalayim.
