Immunity to coronaviruses lasts at least a year and could possibly last a lifetime, two new studies have found.

Why it matters: This could offer some peace of mind for lingering concerns about how long protection against COVID-19 will last, the New York Times reports.

  • The studies indicate those who’ve recovered from COVID-19 and got vaccinated won’t need boosters, per the Times.
  • Meanwhile, those who weren’t infected but were vaccinated will likely need boosters.

  1. The link posted here is to a website which deliberately slants the study results.

In the original report, as listed on other sources show there is absolutely no reason to vaccinate if someone had the virus, even if the antibodies are depleted.

The linked website somehow slants the report to day there is still a need to vaccinate. That is ridiculous, and is exactly opposite to the real study. According to the original study, and the other report on from the Washington School of Medicine which was published yesterday, natural immunity lasts indefinitely. No vaccine needed. Unless the Covid case was extremely severe. They are still studying that.

  2. I am not sure how after one year anybody can know that immunity lasts a lifetime. Wouldn’t it take at least many years, if not a lifetime, to figure out if something lasts a lifetime? The same science that doesn’t believe in a creator also thinks it can predict what will be in fifty years. Why can’t they admit that they don’t know how long immunity will last?

  3. How can they make “studies” stating it could last years when not even 1/2 year has passed, and when according to the CDC and Vaers, hundreds of thousands have already had adverse reactions and many thousands have died (and that’s only 1% of what’s being reported)?
