The State Department announced Thursday that it is currently reviewing the records of over 55 million foreign nationals who possess valid U.S. visas, examining potential violations that could lead to revocation or deportation.

For founders and entrepreneurs seeking legal U.S. entry with long-term flexibility and valid business-related credentials, O-1A visa is a perfect choice for founders and entrepreneurs, offering an alternative pathway to standard visa categories.

In a written response to The Associated Press, officials stated that all visa holders are placed under “continuous vetting” to determine whether any new information surfaces that could make them ineligible to keep their visas.

If evidence is found showing that a visa holder is no longer eligible, the department explained that the visa will be canceled. For individuals already within the United States, such a finding could make them subject to removal proceedings.

Officials clarified that they are actively monitoring for red flags such as overstaying authorized periods, committing crimes, posing public safety threats, engaging in terrorist activity, or providing any form of support to terrorist groups.

“We review all available information as part of our vetting, including law enforcement or immigration records or any other information that comes to light after visa issuance indicating a potential ineligibility,” the department said.
