gemara-learningLomdei Daf Hayomi worldwide began Maseches Chullin yesterday, having wrapped up Maseches on Monday. The learners of Daf Yomi are making their way ever closer to the next Siyum

Hashas, which will take place, iy”H, on August 2, 2012, just a few days after Tisha B’Av.

As reported earlier here on Matzav.com, Agudas Yisroel of America, which is organizing the Siyum Hashas, has reserved the massive Giants Stadium in New Jersey for the historic event.

With 2,711 pages in the Gemara, one cycle of Daf Yomi takes about 7 years, 5 months.

Daf Yomi started its current, 12th cycle on March 2, 2005.

Maseches Chullin is the third mesechta in Seder Kodshim.

As always, be sure to take a look at the Daf Yomi Insights featured each day right here on Matzav.com to gain a deeper understanding of the day’s daf.
