bill-de-blasioBill de Blasio has been elected at New York City’s 109th mayor, according to exit polls.

Mr. de Blasio, a Democrat who is the city’s public advocate, defeated his Republican opponent, Joseph J. Lhota, a former chairman of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority, by a wide margin.

Exit polls conducted by Edison Research suggested that the sweep of his victory cut across all of New York’s traditional divides. He won support from voters regardless of race, gender, age, education, religion or income, according to the exit poll.

Throughout the race, Mr. de Blasio overshadowed his opponent by giving voice to New Yorkers’ rising frustrations with income inequality, aggressive policing tactics and lack of affordable housing, and by declaring that the ever-improving city need not leave so many behind.

  1. can someone explain to me why? I really cant understand this. I don’t live in NYC and definitely could be missing something big, but for right now, I cant see it. how on earth is deblasio good for the yidden?

  2. The dark days in nyc started already a few years ago from the effect that deblasio will become the next mayor in 2 months from now. To proof it, you can see the last week they shot Jews in williamsburg and not long ago a few shomrim members in boro park got shot and you can go on and on. So remember even if bad things happens when the government runs by the republicans you should always blame the democrats.
