The NYPD’s largest union called out Mayor Bill de Blasio on Sunday over a massive melee in Brooklyn that left three officers with minor injuries.
One of the injured cops was head-butted by a teen who was allegedly caught with a canister of pepper spray, the NYPD said.
Bottles and other debris were also hurled at cops from above, but no one was hit by the projectiles that are believed to have been tossed out of windows or rooftops in the sprawling Marcy projects in Bedford-Stuyvesant, the NYPD said.
“How are cops supposed to do our job in this environment? When will @NYPDNews or @NYCMayor @BilldeBlasio stand up & say enough is enough?” the Police Benevolent Association fumed on Twitter.
“Chaos is running the streets. This is outrageous — we’re lucky it wasn’t worse.”

The cops only get tough against Frum people. That’s when they show their disproportionate brutality. They are afraid of the blacks because they know there will be strong push back. The media will go crazy. The yiddelach always go quietly like sheep and the cops know that. It’s always, shhh, we’re in galus, don’t make a tumult. Don’t rock the boat. Just be contrite and enter the cattle cars. Take it on the chin.
Just like in Israel. They only get tough against religious Jews, especially, “the Settlers” and chareidim. Boy are they afraid of Arabs/Muslims WORLDWIDE. How many innocent people and journalists are arrested in the UK to mollify Muslims? That’s because Muslims and terrorism are synonymous.
“History has shown” that cops were more civilized and refined than they are today. Today they are brutal and cruel. Even referring to them as ‘barbaric’ would not be exaggerated. Is it any wonder there’s so much anti copy chaos?

I’m no fan of De Blasio but the cops should be capable of taking care of themselves.
If they aren’t capable of fighting back and or are uninterested in fighting with these type of teenagers then they shouldn’t have joined the police, to begin with.
Did they think the job was just writing tickets and harassing law-abiding citizens who are too scared to fight back?
Due the extreme progressive atmosphere in this city unfortunately, the cops hands are tied. The whole justice system is skewed.
Repeat offenders are let out of jail or even worse not put in jail to begin with unless some one commits a really egregious crime.
Because of our useless Mayor’s anti police policies the police are demoralized.
