Deadly cold weather gripped the U.S. on Tuesday, causing the National Weather Service to issue freeze warnings and wind-chill advisories from South Texas up through the East Coast. Officials opened warming shelters in Alabama and Georgia, as temperatures fell to near zero in South.

On New Year’s Day, 90 percent of the U.S. failed to warm above 32 degrees. Temperatures in Aberdeen, South Dakota, reached -32 degrees Fahrenheit, breaking a 99-year-old record for New Year’s Day. In Des Moines, Iowa, officials shuttered an outdoor ice-skating plaza until the city emerges from sub-zero temperatures; on Monday, the wind-chill dropped to -31 degrees. Read more.

      • In short: A sefer written about 300 years ago mentions something which is “baduk umenusa – tested and proven” and brought down in other sefarim:

The acronym of the name of the Parsha ‘Vayigash’ (in Hebrew) (‘vav’ ‘yud’ ‘gimmel’ ‘shin’) is: ‘vav’ – 6, the sixth day, Friday; ‘yud’ – yihye, will be; ‘gimmel’ – 3, the third day; ‘shin’ – of the month of Shavat
        – now backwards –
‘shin’ – sheleg, snow; ‘gimmel’ – gadol, big; ‘yud’ – yihye, will be; ‘vav’ – v’kar, and cold
In other words: If the 3rd day of the month of Shvat will fall on Friday (like this year) there will be heavy snow and very cold.

        • Is that sort of like the Jewish version of groundhog day experiment? See the shadow? Don’t see the shadow? This is getting interesting.

  2. Global warming where are you.
Phoney fake news liberals also tell you there is life on other planets and that the world is billions of years old.
