US lawmakers have announced the creation of a group to promote US interests as newly restored US-Cuba relations evolve. Twelve lawmakers from both parties did so in a letter to House Speaker Paul Ryan and House Democratic leader Nancy Pelosi. The Cuba Working Group in the House of Representatives is to be formally created on December 17, 2015. It will push to "advance policy proposals that are in our national interest in an era in which the US-Cuba relationship is rapidly being reshaped," the letter said. House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi said Sunday that President Trump engages in racism “constantly.”

“He’s afraid of the women who are going to be coming into Congress,” Pelosi said. “He talks about there’s no place for racism and then he speaks that way, it’s really disgraceful.”

Pelosi also referenced Trump’s tweet ahead of the first anniversary of the violent white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, in which he said he condemns “all types of racism.”

“He likes to make some statement in his tweet about no place for racism, and engages in it constantly,” she said. “It’s shameful.”

President Trump mocked the Democratic leader in a tweet Friday, calling her a “wonderful person whose ideas & policies may be bad, but who should definitely be given a 4th chance.”
