Democrat Jerry Nadler Says Not Forcing 2-Year-Olds To Wear Masks Is ‘Child Abuse’

The fixation of the left on mandating masks for children has taken another ludicrous turn. Despite much of society moving away from irrational pandemic policies like universal masking, one would expect them to quietly distance themselves from past mistakes. One of the most glaring and indisputable errors, of course, is the enforcement of mask-wearing on toddlers.

Mounting evidence has repeatedly demonstrated that masks are entirely ineffective in reducing the transmission of respiratory viruses. In essence, it is abundantly clear that scientific studies show masks are ineffective for adults, and even less scientific evidence supports their effectiveness for children.

Yet, 76-year-old Democratic Representative Jerry Nadler took to the House floor not to move on from child masking, but to vehemently defend it. Nadler argued that not mandating the use of pointless face coverings on two-year-old toddlers would amount to child abuse. Astonishingly, again, Nadler insists that not forcibly masking children is equivalent to child abuse.

Nadler’s statement directly contradicts the consensus of international health agencies. Even though the World Health Organization and the European CDC have made numerous mistakes, they do not recommend masking two-year-olds. Only the U.S. CDC, under the leadership of Rochelle Walensky and her colleagues, has abandoned all pretenses of adhering to the evidence.

Nadler’s assertion lacks any supporting evidence, contradicts established science, and completely distorts the nature of the debate. Forcing such policies on two-year-olds was inexcusable and, considering the lack of evidence supporting it, arguably abusive. There was never a reasonable expectation that masks would be effective for any age group, especially toddlers. Yet, U.S.-based agencies never made a genuine effort to study the issue, particularly regarding children. Instead, they relied on appallingly flawed and selectively chosen observational studies, which were later contradicted.

However, for Nadler and those who share his perspective, blind allegiance to politically aligned “experts” takes precedence over reality. Masks have become a symbol of the left’s anti-science extremism. Rather than objectively examining the evidence, they obsessively delegate critical thinking to ideological allies. Consequently, it is unsurprising that nonsensical and unsupported statements regarding childhood masking and vaccine effectiveness are the norm. Nadler and others like him have fully embraced disinformation and inaccuracies to the point where they are oblivious to the absurdity of their own claims. Or perhaps, even worse, they are aware but simply do not care.

  1. I hate this low life’s politics with a passion but fair is fair. He was talking about masking 2 year olds THEN, not now, as the article title suggests. One cannot disagree.

    • Incorrect. Flimsy disposable masks don’t prevent the spread of Covid. Covid is airborne. Masks can’t prevent that.

  2. Haven’t we said all along that the Scamdemic was political and had nothing to do with health?

  3. This article is just to keep her name alive and the smokescreen going until the Draining of the Swamp will be completed and the EBS will disclose their crimes.

    • He does like the rest of the political criminals. The media fools you into believing he still has some say.

  4. Israeli research showed that symptom free children below age 14 do not spread the virus, hence children under age seven didn’t have to use them, as long as they had no symptoms. Why was this information missing from the US protocols???

  5. That’s okay. Our hard working dedicated askanim have commanded the brainless sheeple to change their registered party from Republican to democrat in order to vote for Mr. Nadler. Our selfless askanim would never steer us wrong. I’m proud to say that I listened to the askanim and voted for Mr. Nadler to represent us. Mr. Nadler clearly represents our values and what we stand for and I just can’t wait to vote for him again. Vinishmartem is a very serious issue. I’m proud of our Congressperson.
