us-general-martin-dempseyGen. Martin Dempsey, the Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, said yesterday that the United States and Israel view the Iranian nuclear threat in different ways. Dempsey, in addressing reporters upon his arrival in Afghanistan, remarked, “Israel sees the Iranian threat more seriously than the US sees it, because a nuclear Iran poses a threat to Israel’s very existence. You can take two countries, give them the same intelligence and reach two different conclusions. I think that’s what’s happening here.”

He also told reporters that, at the same time, “we admit that our clocks ticking at different paces. We have to understand the Israelis, [who]  live with a constant fear and suspicion with which we do not have to deal.”

  1. Obama doesn’t see the destruction of Israel as a bad thing. His activities with iran are calculated to let them develop weapons to be used against Israel. Didn’t he grow up with Muslims and rev wright? Why are we closing our eyes to those facts? Inconvenient?

  2. Israels threat should b united states threat as well, as the treaty between both states is to care and address each others security

  3. I’m curious to see if Jenny Tonge, the British memebr of the House of Lords, offers the same suggestion as she did regarding the Israeli mission to Haiti, namely that there should be an investigation into allegations that the Israeli doctors were killing patients in order to harvest their organs. It turned out that such actions would not have resulted in usable organs but of course, how could the Israelis have known that? I mean, everyone knows how hard it is to find Jewish doctors.By the way, for this vicious accusation, tantamount to the blood libel, Tonge’s own Liberal Democratic party drummed her out of well, actually she got a slap on the wrist.
