response to the restraining order requested by the Association of Jewish Camp Owners against Governor Cuomo’s decision to ban camp this summer, New York State Deputy Attorney General Chris Liberati-Conant request a one week extension before the hearing.

Claiming that camps were “on notice for months that overnight summer camps might not open” and that the camps who are suing had “10 days to tailor their complaint to the specific facts of the case,” the state lawyer requested that the state be given a week to formulate their own evidence.

Avi Schick, the lawyer representing the camp owners, responded to the state saying that they gave advance notice that they would be filing for a restraining order. Schick also said that any delay would impede the ability of campers to exercise their religious rights.

  1. another misleading teaser headline. Wow, the state asked fora delay until the 29th. Is that really “firing” back.

  2. I guess Letitia James is still consumed with jealousy and hate for President Trump. She’s still sifting thru President Trumps tax returns.

    • The same one that says you must eat only chalav yisroel, or that the boy must be the one to pay for all expenses on every single date (car rental, tolls, gas, parking, drinks, food, entry fee, etc…)when he goes out. The princess doesn’t have to pay a penny.

  3. So the battle lines have been drawn. This is all leading to a great colorwar breakout. Heshy is general again. Who’s going to win this colorwar??? Who???

  4. The DOH clearly sat on the Agudah submission re the feasibility of camps It is wrong to claim that Agudah was aware of anything more than the need for its proposal to pass muster as opposed to an affirmative representation by DOH that camps definitely were not opening One can argue that the letter sunbittec by the AG is an attorneys creation as opposed to the same containing and relying on any admissible evidence It would be fascinating to know what if any review DOH and its minions gave the Agudah submission and any communications between DOH and Cuomo So far the legal strategy and tactics used by plaintiffs which consist of a well drafted complaint three representative plaintiffs and seeking injunctive relief have been excellent
