Attorney Alan Dershowitz today issued a direct plea to President Trump to end an administration policy that has resulted in the separations of immigrant families at the border.
Dershowitz, appearing on “Fox & Friends,” said the policy is traumatic for the migrant children.
“President Trump, you know I’ve been defending your civil liberties and will continue to do so on this show, but you have to end this policy of separating parents from children,” Dershowitz said. “Not because of the parents, but because of the children. It imposes a trauma on the children.”
Calling the policy “unacceptable” and “not proper,” the Harvard Law professor, who is an opinion contributor for The Hill, said there are “better ways” of addressing immigration.
“Mr. president, it just has to stop, there are better ways of doing this,” Dershowitz said. “You’re better than this, the American people are better than this. The American government is better than this.”
“So I implore you to stop it now and then we can deal with the ways of focusing on this serious problem of immigration,” he added. Read more at THE HILL.
