John Kelly, the Department of Homeland Security secretary, announced on Wednesday evening that officials tested a laptop bomb on a real airplane and that “to say the least, it destroyed the plane.”
Kelly was speaking at the Aspen Security Forum, noting that such bombs could be hidden in a variety of small electronic devices, including laptops. “Globally we are raising aviation security as opposed to going after one single threat,” said Kelly. Read more at NBC NEWS.
