hitlerBelgian researchers say they have proof that Nazi leader Adolf Hitler had Jewish and African roots, the British Telegraph reported. The researchers reached the conclusions after examining saliva samples of 39 of Hitler’s relatives.

Journalist Jean-Paul Mulders and historian Marc Vermeeren published their findings in Belgain magazine Knack.

The Sun reported that the two did not directly receive the saliva samples used for their DNA tests from all of Hitler’s descendants. In one case, they picked up a napkin dropped by a distant Hitler relative currently living in the United States. Other Hitler relatives were located in Austria and asked to hand over DNA samples.

According to the study, the DNA tests discovered a chromosome called Haplogroup E1b1b1, which is considered rare in Western Europe. The researchers noted that this chromosome is very common in North Africa – mostly in Morocco, Tunisia, and Algeria – as well as among Sephardic and Ashkenazi Jews.

According to the report, the study was undertaken under “stringent laboratory conditions.”

“One can from this postulate that Hitler was related to people whom he despised,” researcher Mulders said.

  1. Ken nisht zein how could you possibly work these things out from relatives who may themselves have jewish roots due to their own heritage! How could you conclude on the diagnosis of a distant relatives sliva, sounds stupide to me and definitely not conclusive, thats for sure!

  2. I ditto comment #5. I was upset to see the rasha’s face for all to see. Yiddishe eyes are heilig, and let’s keep them as such. Please REMOVE his picture promptly!!

  3. The article title and what the article says do not match up. Just look at the last sentence where he says it can be “postulated.” This is just sensationalism. What if he was related to a North African Arab or Berber? That people have mixed ancestry is not surprising but as #2 mentioned, what these researchers purport is not conclusive.

  4. Oh and just to add on, I found the same story on Haaretz where it says “According to Mulders, Hitler’s dominant haplogroup, E1b1b, is relatively rare in Western Europe – but strongest in some 25 percent of Greeks and Sicilians, who apparently acquired the genes from Africa: Between 50 percent and 80 percent of North Africans share Hitler’s dominant group, which is especially prevalent among in the Berber tribes of Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia, and Somalis.” It also says “More surprising still, perhaps, is that Hitler’s second most dominant haplogroup is the most common in Ashkenazi Jews.” SECOND MOST DOMINANT!! That means that the tests prove it is more likely he had no Jewish roots than he did.

  5. Firstly, I join others who request that the picture be removed.

Secondly, I don’t think that this is a big chiddush. I learned years ago that while Hitler y”sh was obviously not actually Jewish (and most certainly not halachically), he did have what they call “Jewish blood” meaning that he had Jewish ancestors. His rule for determining who was Jewish enough to warrant extermination was anyone who was 1/16 Jewish. He was less than that.

  6. I don’t understand Matzav. This is the same garbage that the Arabs & all of the Holocost deniers, antisemites have been saying for years! They are trying to wipe their hands clean by saying, see Hitler was a Jew so one of your own did it & we are as clean as as can be. Why even print such a lie on your site?

  7. Why say kaddish if he isn’t jewish. If someone’s father is jewish, he may have jewish roots, but he isn’t jewish. Saddam Hussein was our cousin, (yishmael, Yitzchak’s brother) he wasn’t jewish.

  8. to matzav editors:
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE listen to our comments and remove the photo of the terrible rasha- yimach shemo vizichro!!!!!
