The Department of Defense will now focus its Operation Warp Speed to coronavirus therapeutics after agreeing to buy $375 million on Wednesday of Eli Lilly’s yet-to-be-proven antibody treatment, according to the Washington Examiner.
In the next two months, the government will purchase 300,000 doses of a therapeutic called bamlanivimab at the initial price. It then has an option to buy up to 650,000 more doses for an additional cost of $812.5 million through June 2021.
