The Justice Department said Monday it opposes the release of an FBI affidavit used to justify the search of former President Donald Trump’s Florida residence last week, but added that it’s willing to release less descriptive documents, the NY Post reports.
“If disclosed, the affidavit would serve as a roadmap to the government’s ongoing investigation, providing specific details about its direction and likely course, in a manner that is highly likely to compromise future investigative steps,” federal prosecutors wrote in a court filing. The DOJ said in a footnote that the release of even a redacted version of the affidavit “would not serve any public interest” due to the number of details that would have to be omitted.
The latest filing, signed by South Florida US attorney Juan Antonio Gonzalez and Justice Department counterintelligence chief Jay Bratt, mentioned a specific concern about outing cooperating witnesses and noted that some records cannot be released due to required grand jury secrecy. “As the Court is aware from its review of the affidavit, it contains, among other critically important and detailed investigative facts: highly sensitive information about witnesses, including witnesses interviewed by the government; specific investigative techniques; and information required by law to be kept under seal,” the filing said.

When asked if the Trump Witch Hunt will ever come to an end, one Witch Hunter from the Justice Department told reporters, “Not in the foreseeable future, and probably not in the unforeseeable future, unless Trump leaves the political arena and disappears. Then, if we feel he is no longer relevant, and no longer poses a threat to our political agenda, the witches might agree to call off the witch hunt.”
When asked whether witches are able to survive without having some sort of prey, like Donald Trump, to prey on, the aforementioned Witch Hunter said, “As long as evil is allowed to permeate our government without interference, we can feed and survive off the evil, and we don’t need to hunt for specific prey to survive. But as soon as a Trump-like figure interferes with the forces of evil, then we must hunt him down and feed off of him.”
The Justice Department Witch Hunter then bid farewell to the reporters and said: “Sorry, but I must go now! The witches are conducting a meeting in the underworld right now. It seems Donald Trump is about to release another statement at any moment, and the witches must find the right spell to cast upon him to weaken his political influence.”
“Goodbye for now, my fellow media friends,” the senior Witch Hunter added. “Hope to see all of you down under very soon.”
This says it all… They wont unseal the Affidavid which will prove how there was no reason to do it. But the documents seized under this fake affidavid they will allow… If this doesnt smell from political motivations than what does?
