President Trump is expected to grant a pardon to former Illinois Governor Rod Blagojevich, nearly five years after commuting the Democrat’s 14-year sentence on federal corruption charges, according to The NY Post.
It remains unclear when the pardon will be officially issued to Blagojevich, 68. The news was first reported by Axios.
Blagojevich was convicted in 2011 on 17 counts of public corruption, which involved trading political favors for financial benefits, including attempting to solicit campaign contributions in exchange for appointing someone to Barack Obama’s Senate seat after Obama was elected president in 2008.
Trump, now 78, commuted Blagojevich’s sentence in February 2020, calling the punishment “ridiculous” and stating it did not match the severity of the former governor’s crimes.

Interesting. So we see that President Trump is a mensch. It’s not just Republicans that he pardons, but even democrats who he feels were unjustly persecuted and sentenced. We never saw Biden or Obama do that. More proof that democrats are inherently evil.
Blagojovich was not persecuted. He was caught red handed, it’s all on tape.
