In the course of Operation Home and Garden in Jenin, a group of IDF soldiers from the Paratrooper Brigade gathered under the arch at the entrance of the city’s refugee camp, posing for a photo. This photograph was reportedly inspired by a similar one taken by Palestinian terrorists.
The army has initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the photo. The IDF will examine which officers authorized the soldiers to gather and take the photo in a hostile territory amid ongoing combat, outside of the operational context.
According to assessments, the photo featuring members of Palestinian terror groups in Jenin was taken several weeks ago. Palestinian eyewitnesses alleged that on the day the picture was taken, the IDF soldiers positioned military defensive equipment behind them to protect themselves while capturing the photo. These eyewitnesses also claimed that the photo was taken during a temporary lull in the fighting, when the armed Palestinians terrorists in Jenin had barricaded themselves in the center of the refugee camp.
The withdrawal of all security forces from the refugee camp and the city of Jenin was completed by 2 a.m., signifying the official conclusion of the operation. The IDF reported that at least 18 terrorists were killed during the operation. To remain prepared for any potential threats, the IDF will maintain open attack cells for aerial strikes in the coming days.
Throughout the operation, security forces confiscated numerous weapons, including explosives, ammunition, firearms, and explosives laboratories, from the Jenin refugee camp and the city of Jenin.
The IDF, Shin Bet, and the Border Police announced that “over 300 suspects were interrogated, leading to the arrest of 30 individuals. Fourteen safehouses and war rooms used for terrorism were located and destroyed, along with six explosives laboratories containing over 300 explosive devices, materials for manufacturing explosives, and additional ammunition.”
The statement continued, “Ten IEDs, 24 M16 rifles, eight handguns, and a significant amount of ammunition were seized. Additionally, substantial sums of terrorist funds were confiscated, along with dozens of kilograms of chemical substances used for bomb-making. Furthermore, six underground tunnels and two smuggling tunnels containing substantial quantities of weapons were discovered.”
Sgt. 1st Class David Yehuda Yitzchak, a 23-year-old soldier from the West Bank settlement of Beit El, tragically lost his life during the operation. A member of the Egoz unit, he received immediate medical attention on-site and was subsequently airlifted to HaEmek Medical Center in Afula, where he was pronounced dead. The circumstances surrounding the incident, including the possibility of a friendly-fire accident, are currently under investigation.

C’mon, gimmee a break! This was their way of celebrating the successful attack! This is normal human nature! Why must everything be considered sinful? These men went in there hoping and praying that they come out alive. Stupid investigation! A negative report will just undermine the morale of these brave young men.

Liberalism at its best
Mocking Palestinian terrorists under investigation because Mocking Palestinian terrorists is akin to mocking the Begatz (Israeli’s anti Israel’s court of injustice).
Sick. Terrorists get away with literal murder.
