Henry Heimlich, the famed Cincinnati surgeon, saved a woman at his senior living center by using his namesake anti-choking maneuver. The 96-year-old said he’d never before used it, despite the fact that he developed the maneuver and has demostrated it many times over his life.

Heimlich reportedly dislodged a piece of hamburger from the 87-year-old woman’s throat. Afterward, he said it helped to truly appreciate that he’s been “able to save all those lives.” Read more.

    • Why would you say something like this kid? There is a shidduch crisis and Hashem determines our outcome. We are looking for Israel to be redeemed and find repentance. A snide or coolio joke about a jewish event for a gentile in light of a jewish feeling myself that the great surgeon had a great moment of humor and hope for a life very well lived is very special to me.

I read comments like yours and many others here on matzav every day that makes me wonder how Israel can ever be redeemed and I wonder how you will fit in with the idea that you must have shame, discretion and human voice for real humor and not just a sticky hope that you can laugh at the gentiles or anyone who is an older age.

Seriously friend, this is offensive in a very annoying way and I will make a comment hoping that others who might read this will realize we must find repentance and right facile relations with the non-jew in any day we must be Israel and know their fate is our community as well if we keep hope that The L-rd will know we must be the priest class of humanity.

This is always shameful to me to read some of the quips and quick comments of JEWS on a very Holy Website and I wonder how much more I can tolerate before I call daily to G-d to make sure we do not find the stronger years until we get our act together.

I am harsh, but I have found G-d is very Harsh if we are not ready for repentance.

      This is to be considered.

      Trust in G-d. Shalom.

        • Is it harsh to think that G-d is not harsh in our hopes himself? I think that G-d calls us to fix our problems and if we can, we can expect others to do the same. If I am kosher today, why should I not be severe with those who are not? I call upon you to have lenience for human discretion. The sadness of Torah is not ever seen.

          Shalom.
