A search warrant executed at 939 E. County Line Road in Lakewood, NJ, right outside The Villas, a frum development, and down the block from Rav Simcha Bunim Cohen’s shul, Khal Ateres Yeshaya, yielded the seizure of cocaine, marijuana and cash. Detective Sgt. John Stillwell said that the Lakewood Police Street Crimes Unit, along with the Special Response Team, executed the search warrant at the single-family home.Three men were arrested on drug charges, police said.
Gerardo Osoreo-Ortiz, 27, of 939 E. County Line Road, was charged with possession of more than a half ounce of cocaine, possession of marijuana and possession of illegal drugs with the intent to distribute in a school zone, Stillwell said.
Osoreo-Ortiz’s 26-year-old brother, Jose Daniel Ortiz, of the same address, was charged with possession of cocaine on a summons, police said.
Severino Dircio Brito, 27, of the 500 block of Ocean Avenue in Lakewood, was charged with possession of cocaine and was issued a summons, police said.
Police seized three-quarters of a pound of marijuana, as well as cocaine and $1,700 in cash.
Because all three men could not demonstrate legal residency, they were detained at the Ocean County Jail for processing through the Immigrations and Customs Enforcement.
Should Osoreo Ortiz be cleared by the immigrations agency, he would have to post $150,000 bail on the criminal charges from the drug possession, police said.
