In one of his clearest statements to date, presumptive President-elect Joe Biden said in a New York Times (NYT) article with Thomas Friedman that the United States would rejoin the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) as a starting-point for follow-on negotiations.
The veteran Democrat lawmaker also reiterated that he would lift the crippling sanctions that incumbent US President Donald Trump imposed on Tehran in a maximum pressure policy.
