A cab driver was shot in the head in a heavily Jewish populated area in Monsey late this afternoon.
Police from Spring Valley, Ramapo, Rockland County Sheriff’s Department and NY State Police are on scene investigating, as well as Spring Hill Ambulance Corps. The shooting took place on Eckerson St. near Viola and the road has been closed while police investigate.
According to one report, the victim, a cab driver, was shot through the passenger side window. His vehicle subsequently lost control and crashed into a house. The victim was transported to Nyack Hospital, unconscious.

I live right in the area. These cab drivers are the worst drivers around. Thank G-d I don’t carry a gun.
